Speaking more than one language is pretty awesome. If you encounter a person who is hard to understand because of a thick accent, try to remember that it is really impressive that they have dedicated so much time in their lives to learn a whole new language. The idea people look down upon others for not speaking English as 'good' as they do is pretty ridiculous when you think about it.
That smell outside.... the smell of fresh air..... make sure you stop and notice how great that is.
I was driving home today and saw a little girl getting off a bus who was in a wheelchair. She was smiling and happy to be home. I am really lucky and need to remember to be thankful for the immense amount i am blessed with.
I have been talking about zombies a lot lately. I am not sure why but i am pretty amused by the idea of fighting in the resistance to a zombie apocalypse. I think the idea of fighting against a weaker, slower, dumber enemy is really the only way you want to fight a large battle.
On the zombie front.... when i am taking pictures with a long lens i always feel like i have the steady hand and aim it would take to use a sniper rifle if this zombie battle ever happens. I don't have a sniper rifle or a gun of any type but just a little FYI... i would be handy.
Playing cards is always a good time. my family and i played some wicked Liverpool Rummy a few times these last few weeks. I used to play a lot of Pitch and Hearts in college and at one point in my life i was pretty good at Spades. I would suggest finding a card game you like and make it a point to play sometime soon.
please try to relax a bit and be positive, world. we all just seem to be up in arms about some perceived slight or conspiracy a lot this time of year. relax.
Last but not least i just started reading a book (the first of a few by this author i plan on reading) by Michael Pollan called "FOOD RULES" he has a seven word motto that anyone could benefit from and it is easy to remember because it is only seven words:
Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
